I've been thinking a lot lately about the moments that shape a career in product management. Not the milestones on a resume, but those turning points when things could have gone either way — and you made the right call.
One thing I've learned is that those defining moments are rarely obvious at the time. They often feel like routine decisions or small steps forward. This is why it’s so important to develop the habit of reflecting on your work. When you take time to connect the dots, you start to see the bigger picture of how your decisions and efforts shape outcomes.
I’ve seen firsthand how recognition can transform a career. Being acknowledged for those pivotal contributions can open many doors. That’s why I believe the Product Manager Awards matter. They shine a light on the people who are quietly driving their teams forward and making a real impact.
If you know someone like that — or if you’ve had one of those defining moments yourself — take a minute to nominate them (or yourself) for a Product Manager Award. It’s an opportunity to recognize the work that often goes unseen but makes all the difference.
And if you found this helpful, consider forwarding it to someone who’s been making an impact — they might need the reminder that their work matters.
