The product function is scaling, and this is the proof
A milestone for product leaders everywhere
Before we dive in, a quick reminder for those in San Francisco: we’ll be gathering in person next week. Apply above to secure your spot.
Over the past year, something remarkable has been happening quietly but unmistakably.
The product function is scaling: in people, in responsibility, and in impact.
This week, I want to welcome a new group of leaders who reflect that shift: our expanded Advisory Council.
As our community has grown to more than 600,000 product leaders worldwide, the role of product has expanded with it. Product leaders are shaping strategy, influencing company direction, and increasingly defining what success looks like across industries. The growth of our Advisory Council, which now has nearly 300 total members, is a direct response to that reality.
These board members are senior product leaders from organizations such as Amazon, Ernst & Young, and JP Morgan Chase. They bring decades of experience building, scaling, and governing products in complex environments.
Members of this council play a meaningful role across our ecosystem. Select members will serve as judges for the Awards, helping us evaluate nominations with depth and discernment as submissions continue to scale.
Beyond the Awards, Advisory Council members help shape conversations that matter to modern product leaders, by contributing to podcasts, webinars, and other programs designed to elevate the craft of product management at scale.
All of this points to the same conclusion: product leadership is no longer a niche function. It is a defining force inside today’s most impactful organizations.
If you’re building a product you believe deserves recognition, or you know someone who is, I’d love for you to be part of this next chapter.
Nominations for the Product Awards are now open. Submit your nomination here.
And if this resonates, feel free to forward this note to someone building a great product who should be recognized.

Love how this shows product leadership going from niche to strategic core. The 600k community size plus a 300-member advisory council basically confirms what we've been seeing - PM's are now at the table for the big decisions, not just executing features. I worked at a startup where the PM barely got invited tomeetings and now three years later they report directly to CEO.
